Songwriting Apples is looking for more songwriters
By Don • Aug 28th, 2007 • Category: Songwriting Resources
Steve over at Songwriting Apples sent me an update on their project.
For those not familiar, Songwriting Apples is friendly songwriting support group that lavishes it’s members with positive peer pressure and reinforcement to finish songs.
What you do is write a song and then post your MP3 demo (don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be the highest quality). You can add ancillary information – such as your inspiration, the lyrics, etc.
I didn’t realize the site was open for anyone to join. This is great news!
If you are someone looking for some songwriting companionship (no it’s not a date site) and encouragement, I highly encourage you to join up and get some songs under your belt.
From Steve:
Just a little update on our Songwriting Blog (that has drawn heavily from Blogging Muses for inspiration). Since January of this year we have 30 songs posted between a group of songwriters who are participating.
We’re always looking for more who are interested in the songwriting process and who would like a place for accountability and encouragement in that area.
I wasn’t sure if this fell under “comment” or “article”…so I’ll leave that for you to decide.
Thanks for the website! It’s great.
Sincerely,
Steve G.

That sounds pretty cool and it will certainly work for some songwriters. I’m a member of a fiction writing group in my local area and the support is really helpful, though it can get a bit competitive sometimes.
