Ryan Adams talks work ethic, John Mayer talks Gravity, and other songwriting news

Ryan Adams writes 3-5 albums per year. He speaks to his prolific nature in an interview with the Vancouver Sun:
“I think that, if anything, if I’m prolific then I think that says more about the work ethic or the expectations of work in this day and age, in society. Because I certainly don’t, in my opinion, do any more work than is required in order to be the type of person that could take my own self seriously as an artist.” (Link)

John Mayer talks with Phillipine publication Burn Magazine (editor’s note: this link is no longer valid) about the songwriting process, taking chances, and why he no longer has hot girls in his music videos:
There is something about “Gravity” that is always present for me. When I start playing or singing “Gravity,” it kinda stops being up to me. I don’t think I’ve ever stopped, you know, with what “Gravity” wants “something wrong.” That’s my opportunity to be…actually a lot of songs on this record are my opportunity just to be completely honest and almost stop thinking about performance, ability and just concentrate on communicating what the song is about.
