Moleskine Notebooks Better, Faster, Cheaper
By Don • Jul 12th, 2007 • Category: Songwriting Tools
As I have mentioned before, I love using Moleskine notebooks for my songwriting. It is a great tool for capturing lyrics and is somewhat inspirational - what with the legendary story behind the notebooks.
The other day when I was at Barnes & Noble I noticed a new Moleskine product called Moleskine “cahiers”. They are thinner notebooks with a lower quality cover - but actually fit better in my pocket - and are more flexible. The picture above gives you an idea of how they are sold - in groups of three in various ruled and graphed pages.
Some people might not like cahiers because they seem cheap and disposable - but for me that’e exactly the point. Since I use it merely as a tool to “capture” ideas which eventually graduate to my “master notebook”, it works PERFECT.
One thing I always regretted about the original Moleskines is that I would throw it away after it was filled up. The notebooks are so pretty that it almost seemed a shame.
I couldn’t really find cahiers in any big online retailers like Amazon (although they have an insane selection of the classic Moleskine Notebooks). But I did find cahiers here at Rev Design - where you can get more information.
