sam_rpm.gifStill clearing out my inbox from the holidays. Here’s a few items that grabbed my interest.

Songwriting Challenges. Although they might resent being mentioned in the same sentence, both FAWM (February Album Writing Month - 14 songs in 28 days) and the RPM Challenge (Record and Album in 28 Days) are beginning in February. We’re only a few days away:

Take me to the Suwannee. The Suwannee Springfest 2007 Songwriting Contest is now accepting applications.

The finalist selected as the first place winner will receive $200 plus a main stage performance spot at Suwannee Springfest 2008. The second place winner will receive a $100 cash prize. The third place winner will receive a $50 cash prize. Each finalist will receive a weekend pass, including camping, for the 2007 festival.

The entry fee is $15.00 per song with a limit of two songs per songwriter. You may send two song entries in one envelope, and you may send one check or money order for two entries. There must be a separate cassette or CD, lyric sheet, and application form for each song entered. Contest link. (Via Cybergrass)
