Songwriting Tips Archive: Status Report

By Don • Oct 17th, 2006 • Category: Songwriting Resources

Just wanted to give an update on the Songwriting Tips Project. I have had a lot of great suggestions to date on how to improve the archives and make them more useful. There are some cool little useful things we have planned for the future. But here is where we stand so far:

50+ Tips to date. Not bad for the first couple of weeks. We are going to spread the word over the next week or so and let people know they can promote their own projects, websites, and music by submitting tips. Check out how the band The Jennifers have used the Songwriting Tips Archive to their advantage in promoting their band.

We need more tips on melody and song titles. The sections that are scarce at the moment are Melody Tips and Song Title Tips. I think these are legitimate tip categories, but if they don’t yield to many more tips for those sections I’ll just combine those tips into other categories and remove the categories from the list of options.

Are there any tip categories I am missing? I think I got the major tip categories. If I am missing any that are obvious let me know, and I’ll be happy to oblige.

A big thank you to all of you that have provided tips thus far. I’ve seen alot of tips in the archives I have never seen before. It’s been a lot of fun and I am looking forward to putting some of the tips to the test.
