Stone Sour’s sophomore release is a wonderfully executed hard rock album, the likes of which are rarely heard. Their debut album from 2002 demonstrated their collective ability, and Come What(ever) May continues to put their impressive songwriting on display. (Link)
Country artist Keith Anderson talks to the Valencia County News Bulletin about his come-uppance in the Nashville songwriting world:
Several people were key in Anderson’s rise up the charts, including songwriters George Ducas, John Rich and Jeffrey Steele. “Being well connected and having them believe in what you’re doing makes people stop and take a look at you,” Anderson said. “They helped teach me the craft of songwriting. It’s always more effective to write about something you’ve lived through.” (Link)
Aimee Mann talks about how being involved in movies helped her songwriting:
“Being involved in that movie got me thinking about a visual and a story,” Mann told the Observer during a phone interview Monday. “The experience of (writing ‘The Forgotten Arm’) was almost like writing a soundtrack for a movie.
