The birth of a songwriting website
By Don • Sep 12th, 2006 • Category: Site News
Blogging Muses is entering it’s ninth month of existence. It has been pretty exciting to see how much it has grown - both in visitors and in the sheer number of articles on the site.
We’re starting to get lots of visitors and newsletter subscribers from the search engines. This is also helping the site grow.
But it’s not solely about numbers. MOST IMPORTANT is that we provide useful information to songwriters. We have had some wonderful contributions to the site from remarkable songwriters. Jeff Oxenford (JeffSongwriting.com), Paul King (NashvilleHype.com), Ryan Michael Galloway (RyanRocks.com), Alan Hylands (SongwritingForums.com), Janet Fisher (GoodNightKiss.com), Nate Campany (natecampany.com), Cliff Goldmacher (CliffGoldmacher.com), and June Neira (BMI).
With humans, 9 months is about the amount of time it takes for a fetus to gestate. With Blogging Muses, the site has definitely grown in similar fashion. It still has some basic functions that need to be developed, but everything about it to date looks healthy and positive.
We have many new and useful features planned after we finish our ninth month - so we can’t wait to smack Blogging Muses on the ass and watch it take it’s first breath on it’s own.
Anyways … I digress …
This is just a brief thank you to Blogging Muses readers.
Additionally, I would like to thank the advertisers. There are a few advertisers on Google Adsense that now choose to advertise on Blogging Muses. This is quite an honor. We would also like to thank Musicians Friend, Zzounds, and Music123 (located in the upper right) for being advertisers. I have ordered from all three of them at one time or another and can vouch for their attention to detail and great packing of even delicate items. (I oughtta write about the 12-string Takamine I ordered from Zzounds. Talk about great shipping!)
Naturally, I am always open to feedback (either below or using the contact form) and suggestions on how to improve the site.
Look at our last 9 months of gestation!
To see the last 9 months of the site and how the list of articles and news has grown, check out our newly revamped archives page (or open the archives in a new window). All the articles are collated by month since January 2006.
Pretty cool!
Thanks again,
