I have a ton of live photos from songwriting competitions and songwriter-in-the-round performances. As you may know, lighting for pictures can sometimes be tricky. If you turn on your camera flash, you wash out all the cool lighting. But if you turn OFF your camera flash, you run the risk of your picture being too dark.
Personally, I favor going without flash. Regardless, a persistent problem in my pictures is the dreaded red eye effect.
There are expensive solutions for removing red-eye, like Photoshop and others. Many digital cameras nowadays come with some photo organizing software that performs some cursory red-eye-removal functionality. Yet even with those - not only are the tools sometimes confusing - but then you are stuck with their proprietary photo organizing software.
My tip?
Seriously, it’s friggin’ awesome. (And did I mention, it’s FREE?) Not only does it work great for removing red-eye, but I found a ton of live performance pictures on my computer that I didn’t even know I still had.
There is no spyware, popups or other crap to slow down your computer. A lot of the free graphics software I have tried does, so the Google Photo Editing software is definitely my hero in that respect too.
Anyways, for free I hope you try it out. Once you do, let us know how you like it in the comments below. Even I figured out how to remove red-eye!
